Kidcore Aesthetic clothes

When did the kidcore aesthetic style come about?

Kidcore was created back in the 1980s. It is mainly about nostalgia for TV celebrities of the 80s and 90s mixed with kid themes.

The aesthetic itself based on kidcore style began to gain recognition in 2015 after media artist Matt Starr began designing outfits, which were based on children's apparel. Babycore was the name, which he decided to give to the new style. In an interview with the famous Paper magazine, Matt clarified that children's clothing has a playful, happy, and comfortable aesthetic, which inspired him.

As already discussed, we can make a conclusion, that this aesthetic is mainly about the variety of mixed colors and toy-inspired themes, which are trying to bring out the kid in all of us.

By 2020, kidcore search results grew 20 times more, making it one of the most popular aesthetic styles today.

Nowadays, kidcore aesthetic clothing is mainly popular among teenagers and young people, and to differ this aesthetic style from others, you should look for nostalgic patterns and graphics, such as retro flowers, checkerboards, and smiley faces on other outfits.

Also, Kidcore aesthetics are often compared to other aesthetics like indie or even babycore. However, kidcore is much brighter and more optimistic than the last one.

Kidcore aesthetic clothes require bright-saturated colors like red, yellow, green, orange, and blue. Patterns like polka dot, checkered and zigzag are common as well.

To recreate the kidcore aesthetic style, try reminding yourself what you have worn as a kid. For a start, pick any t-shirt or a hoodie with a cartoon print or any kid motifs. Any colorful pieces of clothing, for example with rainbows, will be just perfect. Loose bright pants with patterns will be ideal. Try choosing such colors as blue, yellow, or red.

The most important point is that you should understand that the clothing should both comfortable and functional. You don’t have to look for a disco-like outfit. It's only enough to add a few colorful accents to make the picture look finished.

Talking about accessories, colorful hairpins, and hair ties will be the best choice for you. Multi-colored plastic bracelets and beads will remind you of your school years.

What is special about kidcore, is that its representatives usually wear massive boots or any shoes on the platform, which gives a style a little bit of spice.
